Comparison
DeliverSight vs MXToolbox
MXToolbox is the best-known name in free DNS and blocklist lookups, and its paid monitoring is built around blocklist and network reputation. DeliverSight scores an individual message — content, spam rules and authentication, with the reason behind every deduction — then watches certificates, MTA-STS and DMARC alongside blocklists, and publishes what it costs.
MXToolbox details checked 2026-08-07 against their own published pricing. We have not linked to them; the figures are here so you do not have to go looking.
Why teams pick DeliverSight
- A scored message-level test: send one email and get a mark out of 10 with the reason behind every deduction, rather than a header dump to interpret yourself.
- Monitoring covers certificates, MTA-STS, TLS-RPT, nameserver and RDAP changes as well as blocklists.
- DMARC aggregate reports are collected and grouped, so you can see who is sending as your domain without parsing XML.
- Pricing is published. Plans, limits and overage are on the site, so you can size the thing without booking a call.
- EU-only data: the controller is an Estonian company and the infrastructure is in Finland, so submitted message content never leaves the EEA.

MXToolbox does not publish prices at a public URL: its pricing page returns a 404 and its product pages route to a sales phone number. Figures circulating on software-resale sites disagree with one another and are not quoted here, because a competitor price we cannot verify is a price we should not print. What is confirmed from its own site is the free lookup tool set and the free email test, which reports on headers, outbound IP blocklist reputation and SPF. Rows marked "Not published" mean exactly that — we could not confirm the capability either way, not that it is missing.
Choose DeliverSight if…
You want the message itself scored and explained, and the domain watched for certificate and policy problems rather than only for blocklist entries — and you would like to know the price before you talk to anyone.
Check it against your own mail
Send one message to a generated address and read the report: the score, what cost you marks, and the specific change that fixes each one. Three a day, no account, no card. Then add the domain and see what monitoring reports back on certificates, MTA-STS and DMARC.
